Multiple news outlets have reported that Phil Taylor, the Cleveland Browns' first-round pick of the 2011 NFL draft, has agreed to terms on a contract.

Taylor (6-foot-3, 335 pounds) was selected with the No. 21 pick overall last April out of Baylor University. Yesterday evening, Taylor hinted via a tweet that a new deal was close. He has missed the first four days of training camp.

No. 1 draft choice Phil Taylor sounds as though he is ready to take the field on Tuesday. He posted this comment from his Twitter account Monday evening.

"Good News. Stay tuned. Might be on that field 2mrw. Like a kid at the candy shop."

The Browns could use some good news as the trade for defensive lineman Broderick Bunkley went haywire and Bunkley ended up being traded to Denver from the Eagles. It is believed Bunkley came to Cleveland, but did not pass his physical.

Taylor was the 21st pick in the first round by the Browns this year and is expected to immediately step in next to Ahytba Rubin in the 4-3 defense.

Taylor would have to pass his conditioning test before he can practice.
