If you need this player profile to tell you who Bernie Kosar is, then you were probably not a Browns fan in the 1980s or 1990s.
Bernie Kosar graduated from the University of Miami in 1984, shortly after leading the Hurricanes to a national championship. Bernie was already famous for that, and for the infamous game where he and Doug Flutie traded touchdown passes until Fluties last-second Hail Mary, when he worked the NFL's supplemental draft rules to ensure that he could be able to play for his beloved Cleveland Browns.
In the last 1980s, Kosar led the Browns to their best performances since the Kardiac Kids era, in leading the Browns to AFC Championship games three times in four years. It took "The Drive" and "The Fumble" to keep Bernie's teams out of the Super Bowl, but he finally got his Super Bowl Ring with the Cowboys following his release by the Browns in 1993.
Bernie writes a regular column for Bernie's Insiders magazine, which is also carried by BerniesInsiders.com. |
