Qasim Mitchell
Ht: 6-6 Wt: 335
Position: OG
Date of Birth: 12/03/1979
Experience: 2
College: North Carolina A&T

Biography:
A hotly-pursued undrafted free agent out of North Carolina A&T, Qasim Mitchell was signed by the Browns to help fill out competition at the guard spot. At 6' 6" and 335 pounds, Mitchell is both big enough and strong enough to excel at the pro game. But while some draft boards had Mitchell going as high as the fourth round, scouts were unimpressed by Mitchell's tendency to disappear in games against less physical opponents.

Still, Browns fans have reason to hope Mitchell can make a career in Cleveland. Apart from injury prone Tre' Johnson, the Browns' offensive line lacks anyone approaching Mitchell's raw power. By grooming Mitchell behind Johnson, Stokes, O'Hara, and Fowler, the Browns could lay the foundation for a successful running game for years to come.

Unfortunately, Mitchell could find himself the victim of a brutal numbers game at the guard position. Mitchell's play has been up and down throughout camp, and a bruised lung suffered in practice could force him out of the last two preseason games. With developing youngers like O'Hara and Fowler both commanding attention, the Browns may need to move Mitchell to the practice squad. The question is: Will he make the trip before another team claims him off waivers?
