| Entering his fourth NFL season, Steve Heiden will be getting an opportunity to continue his development with the Cleveland Browns. A versatile player, Heiden is plays tight end and special teams, and can even serve as a backup long snapper if needed. Heiden started to emerge for the Chargers in 2001, playing in all 16 games and starting 10. Heider wound up the year with eight receptions for 55 yards. Heiden had a couple of firsts on December 17, 2000 in Carolina where caught his first touchdown pass and blocked his first punt in the same game. Heiden was originally drafted in 1999 by the Chargers. He was selected in the third round (69 overall).
