After spending most of the 2001 season backing up former quarterback Chris Chandler, Michael Vick aims to take the Falcons to the next level in 2002. The former number one pick and Virginia Tech Hokie completed 50-of-113 passes for over 700 yards and 2 touchdowns in limited action last season.

All-Big East Conference second-team choice…All-American Dream Team selection and rated the best offensive player in college football by The Sports Xchange…Played in ten games, starting nine contests…Completed 87 of 161 passes (54.0%) for 1,234 yards and eight touchdowns…Carried 104 times for 607 yards (5.9 avg) and eight scores…Rushed for over 100 yards in three games…Averaged 184.1 yards per game in total offense. He was also drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 30th round of the June 2000 MLB draft despite not playing baseball since the 8th grade.
