Christian left Northwestern as the school record holder in rushing yards with 2,643 (since broken). He collected the most all-purpose yards in a game in school annals with 319 (220 rushing, 99 receiving) against Wisconsin. The 220 rushing yards on 42 carries were the third-best day of any Wildcat back ever. He was also a two-time Big 10 Offensive Player of the Week as a senior. His junior year included a single season school record of 1,291 yards with seven 100-yard games. He rushed for 413 yards as a sophomore playing in every contest. His freshman season was cut short due to a broken jaw suffered in his fifth collegiate game.
