How Acquired: Selected in the second round, pick 59, of the 2004 NFL
Draft. The Browns gave up their third-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and took a
lower position in the fifth-round in order to get Jones.

Georgia (2001 - 2003)
2003:
Emerged as one of college football's leading defensive backs, moving over to the
strong safety position... Named to a number of All-SEC and All-American teams...
Made 121 tackles to go along with five interceptions, five passes broken up, and
once sack... Blocked three field goals... Had a 92-yard fumble return for a
touchdown against Tennessee... Continued exceptional special teams play.
2002:
Moved into the starting free safety role... Appeared in all fourteen games for
the Bulldogs, twelve of them as a starter... Played on return and coverage teams
and averaged 16 yards per return as punt returner... Had 83 tackles and two
interceptions... Also blocked a punt, which was returned for a touchdown.
2001:
Appeared primarily at free safety as a backup... Made it into eleven games and
the post-season Music City Bowl... Made 38 tackles and broke up two passes.
2000: Red-shirted as a freshman
