2003: Started all sixteen games at middle linebacker, replacing Earl
Holmes, and led team with 170 tackles... Led team in tackles the first three
games of the season... Recorded four sacks against the Chiefs, an effort which
ties him with Jerry Sherk and Mack Mitchell for the best single-game performance
in Browns history... Recorded career high 15 tackles against Seattle and
surpassed that with a 16-tackle effort against Denver... Named Player of the
Year by Cleveland Browns writers...
2002: Was a special teams standout for the Browns, making 16 tackles on

Florida (1997-2001)
Bright career at Florida was partially derailed by knee injury in opening game
of his junior season... Lost the entire 2000 campaign and came back as a senior
in 2001... Named to All-SEC first team his senior year... Semifinalist for
Butkus Award, and second-team All-American... Led Florida with 107
tackles his final year... Started at MLB in 1999, recording 109 tackles and
three sacks... Made 12 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles in 1999... Played

Contract Status: .
Davis signed a three-year contract with the Browns in 2002. The contract calls
for him to be paid the minimums of $300,000 in 2003 and $387,000 in 2004. The
contract also included a $123,000 signing bonus, of which $41,000 gets applied
against the salary cap each year.
