| Biography: |
Phil Savage joined the Cleveland Browns and the staff of Head Coach Bill Belichick in 1991 as "defensive quality control coach". Moving with the Ravens to Baltimore, Savage was promoted to Director of College Scouting in 1996 and supervised drafts that resulted in the Ravens landing standouts such as Ray Lewis, Jonathon Ogden and Todd Heap. Savage was promoted to Director of Player Personnel in 2003.
Savage is considered to have played a key role in the Ravens success in staying in playoff contention, as well as winning a Super Bowl in 2000. His keen eye for talent has won him auditions for loftier positions with Miami, Jacksonville, and elsewhere, but Savage has yet to find what he considers to be the right opportunity. |
