Pro Experience
Cleveland Browns (2002-present)
2003: An already-disappointing season was derailed due to off-the-field
issues involving an arrest for possession and a domestic incident... Started the
first seven games of the season... Best game of the season was against Oakland
(26 carries, 145 yards, 5.6 average, 1 TD)... Also went over 100 yards against
Pittsburgh (115 yards on 31 carries)... Wound up with 559 yards and one
touchdown for the season... Missed eighth game of the season due to shoulder
injury suffered against San Diego... Was suspended by the Browns for one game,
and then by the NFL for the remainder of the year.... Hugely disappointing
season considering an excellent second half the season before.
2002: Appeared in all sixteen games, starting ten... Was slow to start,
but emerged as one of the league's most explosive backs the second half of the
season... Wound up with 887 yards and six touchdowns... Most of his production
came in the last seven games (726 yards, five TDs)... Was outstanding in season
finale against Atlanta, running for 178 yards and two TDs, including a 64-yard
run for a touchdown... The win got the Browns into the playoffs for the first
time in the expansion era... Also went over 100 yards against New Orleans and
Jacksonville.
College Experience
Boston College (1999-2001)

senior season... Ran for nearly 3,000 yards (501 carries / 2,974 yards) in his
career... Named to numerous All-American teams his junior year... Rushed for 100
yards nine of the ten games, winding up with 1,559 on 265 carries... As a
sophomore, named to the All Big East squad as he rushed for 1,164 yards on 187
carries... Was a back-up tailback his freshman year, winding up with 49 caries
and 251 yards.
Contract Status: After a 2002 training camp holdout, Green signed a
seven-year deal with the team, which included a $4,100,000 signing bonus. The
deal extends through 2008. The 2007 and 2008 seasons are voided with minimal
playing time.
