'Boys sign Woods, Floyd

The Dallas Cowboys released cornerback Jamar Love and signed cornerback Marquis Floyd (#30) and linebacker Donovan Woods (#50) to their practice squad today.

Floyd played four seasons at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia, and set school records in interceptions (19) and punt return yards (982).

He played for the Tennessee Valley Vipers in 2004 and then for Rio Grande Valley of af2 in 2005. Floyd played two seasons in the AFL with the San Jose SaberCats before signing with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent on August 11, 2008. He spent the 2008 season on their practice squad.

Floyd was released by Seattle at the end of training camp in 2009 and signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad on September 24. He has been out of football since his release by the Browns on September 29.

Woods originally signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a rookie free agent on April 28, 2008 out of Oklahoma State. He played in five games as a rookie and recorded five special teams tackles.

He was released from the Steelers practice squad on November 24, 2009. Woods played both quarterback and safety at Oklahoma State.
