While all the attention has been focused on Josh Cribbs' absence, yet another veteran has decided to skip the first full-team camp of the Mangine Era. Fred Greetham was in Berea and gives you all the details...

In addition to Donte Stallworth and Josh Cribbs, veteran kicker Phil Dawson was missing from the minicamp practice that was open to the media this morning. The press met with Eric Mangini prior to the practice and were unaware that Dawson was not in camp.

There are some reports that Dawson is unhappy with his contract and might be the reason he was not present. The Browns signed rookie free agent Parker Douglass recently and he did all of the kicking duties at Thursday’s practice. Douglass is from South Dakota State and most recently played on an arena league team.

Cribbs is missing practice due to wanting a new contract and Stallworth is awaiting trial for a DUI manslaughter charge in Florida.

Other players in camp but not practicing fully were DL Corey Williams (shoulder), DL Robaire Smith (Achilles), DL Louis Leonard (leg), RB Jamal Lewis (ankle), and TE Steve Heiden (knee).

Lewis said he is feeling good, but put no timetable on when he will return.

“I feel good and am moving well,” Lewis said. “It’s hard to tell when I’ll be full go.”

Sounds of the Game: The Browns practiced to music throughout practice ranging from Bon Jovi , Kenny Chesney, Bruce Springsteen to rap.
