The Cleveland Browns have signed offensive lineman Floyd Womack to a free agent contract, according to a reported televised on ESPN.
Womack is an eight-year veteran who played most recently with the Seattle Seahawks, and has the versatility to play a number of positions. With Lennie Freidman likely leaving the team as a free agent or retiring, the Browns needed veteran offensive line depth.
Womack was rated as the 18th best available offensive guard in free agency by Scout.com
The Browns had also been talking to offensive lineman Adam Goldberg, as first reported by the OBR earlier this week. Goldberg remained interested in the Browns as of last evening, but it unknown how the signing of Womack will influence the team's interest in the younger Goldberg.
