Yesterday, the popular sports blog Deadspin posted what was purported to be an angry e-mail response from general manager Phil Savage to a Browns fan, a missive sent less than an half an hour after the club's Monday night win over the Bills.
Today, the Browns and Savage responded to the veracity of the blog post.
"It happened," Savage said of the e-mail in question. "We have both apologized to each other since. Browns fans have overwhelmingly been positive towards me since 2005 and I appreciate that greatly."
In the e-mail posted on Deadspin, Savage told the fan in question to "Go root for Buffalo-f#@* you-". The message from Savage was in response to the fan calling him "easily the worst GM in the NFL" and that "this is officially a regime that is worse than Butch Davis'"
