Here's some of what we've been told in recent days, to help tide us over until the media is allowed a glimpse of the team's Offseason Training Activities this Wednesday...

• Very early during the second day of the 2008 draft, the Browns were concerned a team would jump in and select linebacker Beau Bell, thus the organization was working the phones to make a move on the player. According to a Browns team source, Bell was close to being selected a few selections in front of the Browns.

• The Cleveland front office had a keen eye on cornerback Antwaun Molden from Eastern Kentucky, but were unwilling to deal a high 2009 draft selection for the player

• Veteran linebacker Al Wilson remains an option for a team at ILB, but the Cleveland interest has significantly waned. This is either due to the team getting the player they 'really' wanted in the draft, ILB Beau Bell or a ploy aimed at Wilson's representative to take a slightly-better-than-minimum offer from the Browns.

• Confirming an earlier report by Scout's Adam Caplan, the Browns offered up wide receiver Travis Wilson to Minnesota for Troy Williamson. Mind you, this was prior to the draft, as Williamson was dealt to Jacksonville. On draft weekend, Wilson was made available, but there was no interest.

• Some so-called draft experts and media people claimed that the Browns had significant interest in linebacker Shawn Crable prior to the draft. Wrong. Turns out that the Browns had very limited interest in the former University of Michigan product.

• No, the Browns did not attempt to trade either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn on draft weekend.

• The signing of offensive lineman Rex Hadnot does not spell the end for lineman Ryan Tucker. Tucker played well in the 2007 season and is the starter heading into camp. Due to his physical ability, Hadnot will pose a strong challenge to Tucker, but recently re-signed Seth McKinney could ultimately be the odd man out.

• Veteran LeCharles Bentley will have to have a dominating off-season and training camp to solidify a place on this roster. The coaching staff likes the make-up of the starting lineman and are not in position to make changes, unless something dramatic were to occur.
