Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports that the Cleveland Browns met today with Joe Linta, representative for Romeo Crennel, to continue discussions about a potential contract extension for the Browns head coach.
No agreement on a new contract was reached, but the discussions were labelled as "positive" according to a source close to the talks. The two sides will continue negotiations through the week as Savage and the Browns scouting staff get a first-hand look at college talent during Senior Bowl practices.
Browns General Manager said that the Browns would look to "do something" for Crennel after their head coach led the Browns to a 10-6 record during his third year at the helm. After the season, rumors hit the media that Bill Parcells had a potential interest in Crennel as a head coach as he rebuilt the Miami organization. Cowboys assistant Tony Sparano was eventually hired to guide the Dolphins.
Scout.com will have more from Mobile throughout the week...
