The Cleveland Browns have made roster cuts needed to reduce their roster to 53 players in advance of today's deadline. The Browns can bring as many as eight of these players back to the club via the practice squad tomorrow.
Waived by the club are RB Chris Barclay, OL Andrew Hoffman, TE Ryan Krause, OL Cliff Louis,
WR Maurice Mann, OL Fred Matua, DB DeMario Minter,
DL Babatunde Oshinowo, DL Chase Pittman, OL Brent Pousson, DL Melila Purcell, WR Steve Sanders, LB Clifton Smith, OL Rob Smith, and WR Syndric Steptoe.
The Browns also decided to keep quarterbacks Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, and Brady Quinn. Ken Dorsey was released.
Waived (injured) were DB Justin Hamilton, DB Jeremy LeSueur, DL J’Vonne Parker, and LB Jason Short. Mason Unck was placed on the team's Injured Reserve list and will be lost for the season. OL Ryan Tucker has been suspended for four games and was placed on the "Reserve - Suspended" list.
