Practice Notes: Monday AM Practice

Rookie CB Brandon McDonald had mixed success this morning.

Notes from this morning's practice. Please check out the OBR Live Feed for what we were seeing as practice was going on this morning. The Live Feed will be back during this evenings practice and if any news breaks during the day today. Anything published elsewhere in the media will show up on the OBR Newswire.

This morning's practice was from 8:45 to 10:45AM. This evening's practice will run from 5:30-7:30PM.

MCDONALD'S MENU: Rookie Brandon McDonald had an up-and-down day in the morning practice. He had coverage on Efrem Hill when Hill dived to catch a pass from Ken Dorsey. The ball bounced off Hill's hands and McDonald intercepted. He dashed to the end zone for what would have been a touchdown.

McDonald did not have the same success on punt return drills. He bobbled two punts from Dave Zastudil while Syndric Steptoe and Hill caught the ball without any problems. Joshua Cribbs was with the punt returners, but Hill took his turn in the rotation. Cribbs is ahead of the others.

BAXTER'S RETURN: It is not official yet, but all signs point cornerback Gary Baxter being on the field for the even practice today running from 5:30-7:30. Baxter is recovering from tearing both patellar tendons.

Exactly what role the Browns have in mind for Baxter won't be determined until he shows on the field what he can do.

TUCKER AT GUARD: Ryan Tucker was at right guard for several plays Monday morning. Joe Thomas was at left tackle and Kevin Shaffer at right tackle in the alignment with Hank Fraley at center and Eric Steinbach at left guard. It will be interesting to see how much play Tucker gets at guard the rest of training camp.
