On the eve of the team's rookie orietentation, the Browns have signed CB Brandon McDonald (pictured), WR Syndric Steptoe, and DL Melila Purcell to four-year deals. First day picks Joe Thomas, Brady Quinn, and Eric Wright remain unsigned.

The Browns have informed the Orange and Brown Report this evening that all of the team's second-day picks have been signed to four-year contracts.

In addition to Chase Pittman, signed last week, and Melila Purcell, who signed last evening, the team has agreed to contracts with fifth-round pick CB Brandon McDonald and seventh-round selection WR Syndric Steptoe.

The news comes on the eve of the team's rookie orientation session. Practice for all rookies and veterans begins on Friday, when training camp also opens to the public.

Still unsigned are LT Joe Thomas (first round, pick three), QB Brady Quinn (first round, pick twenty-two), and CB Eric Wright (second round, selection fifty-three). The Browns have been in negotiations with representatives for all three.

The Browns are far from alone in not signing their first and second round picks.'s Who's Signed, Who's Not database shows relatively first signings in the first two rounds as teams enter the last week prior to the wide opening of training camps across the league. Recommended Stories
