Bentley Decides Against Surgery

BREAKING: Browns center LeCharles Bentley has decided not to have further knee surgery at this time. The 2006 free agent signee will continue to consider whether or not to go under the knife, but isn't planning to as of this point.

The status of LeCharles Bentley has been one of the major mysteries as the 2007 off-season has gone forward. The OBR has been told that Bentley has decided not to have further knee surgery at this time. The 2006 free agent signee will consider whether or not to have surgery or try training camp with the Browns this year, and give his decision in three or four weeks.

Browns General Manager Phil Savage said the Browns could carry Bentley on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list if he does not have surgery yet is not quite ready by training camp. If Bentley is put on the PUP, he will be unavailable through the first six weeks of the 2007 season.
