Browns Snag a CB in Round 2

The Browns filled a gap in their defensive secondary by selecting UNLV CB Eric Wright in the second round.

 

The Browns filled a gap in their defensive secondary by selecting UNLV CB Eric Wright in the second round. The former USC cornerback was considered a potential first-round pick before off-field problems caused him to leave PAC-10 program.

Wright is considered to be a physical cornerback with excellent ball skills, and represents a calculated risk by General Manager Phil Savage. Thanks to the devastating injury suffered by CB Gary Baxter in 2006 against the Denver Broncos, the Browns found themselves in dire need of immediate help at the cornerback position.
