The fourth-annual OBR Draft Bash will be held, on schedule, on time, and with
a minimum of police involvement on April 28th, beginning at 9:30AM at Tony Romas
in Brunswick, Ohio.
This has been a great time each and every year. Browns fans and OBR members
from all over the planet converge on Cleveland on draft weekend to mingle with
their fellow fans, friends, and the OBR gang and track the draft as a group.
We've been together as the Browns traded for Kellen Winslow, drafted Braylon Edwards, and selected LB Kamerion Wimbley.
With the intrigue around the Browns third-pick in the draft, this promises to
be the biggest and most interesting draft day ever.
There are a bunch of reasons that the OBR's Annual Draft Bash has become the
standard by which all other draft parties are measured:
- This is absolutely for fans, friends, everyone. You don't have
to be a vocal member of the forums to attend. If you love the Browns, and
want to watch and talk draft with some of the friendliest folks around, the
OBR draft bash is the place to be.
- Again this year, the OBR will be dedicating efforts to help drive
contributions for the EJ Foundation, in memory of our old friend LB Eddie
Johnson, a member of the gang when the OBR launched on Scout back in 2001.
Participation in raffles and other activities to benefit the EJ Foundation
are entirely optional.
- The OBR Draft Bash, like
the Watercooler, is intended to be family-friendly. There are video
games which will be available, a Kids Menu at Tony Roma's and more.
- The OBR gang is working on securing special guests for the bash, which
we'll be announcing in
the Watercooler soon.
- Unlike some other draft parties, there's no cover charge, and no cynical
exchange of cash under the table to make it a for-profit exercise. We just
gather each year, hanging out at a place run by one of the leaders of the
fight to win back the Browns, just to meet each other and have fun. There's
no charge for parking, and no intent to suck $200 out of your wallet. It's
just fans, friends, and fun. Period.

There's more information available in the draft bash thread in the
Watercooler and we'll be talking about this nearly every day for the next three
weeks.
WE WILL SEE YOU THERE!!
