The Cleveland Browns were in attendance on Monday afternoon when four University of Minnesota football players participated at the Gophers Pro Day held at the Gibson-Nagurksi Football Complex. Logan Payne, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver was the standout performer on the afternoon. He is projected as a late draft pick or potential free agent. Another player of possible interest to the Browns, John Mackey Award winner Matt Spaeth, did not participate in Pro Day due to his shoulder injury. Speath plans to hold his own timing day before the draft when his shoulder is more suitable for testing. Spaeth is ranked the No. 6 tight end available in the 2007 NFL Draft, according to Scout.com. In addition to Payne, defensive back Trumaine Banks, defensive lineman Eric Clark and linebacker Mario Reese represented the Gophers at Pro Timing Day. The players were measured and tested for their vertical, broad jump, bench press, 40-yard dash and shuttle run.
