Berea - Offensive tackle Ryan Tucker left the practice field early due to a
possible knee problem. Romeo Crennel said it was precautionary because Tucker
felt something while practicing. He said the doctors are going to take a MRI and
make sure there's nothing serious.
Besides Tucker, other injury updates were that WR Braylon Edwards has not
been cleared to practice yet, but was riding the bicycle and caught some passes.
Surgery Update: LeCharles Bentley had surgery today and it
went well, according to Crennel. Rookie CB Demario Minter also had surgery on
his knee to repair cartilage. Both will begin rehab in the near future.
Minter has a chance to be added to the team at the end of the Physically
Unable to Perform (PUP) list window which is around October.
“We have a lot of confidence in the doctors and are optimistic to get both
Bentley and Minter back on the field in the future,” Crennel said. “Our surgeon
(Dr. Anthony Miniaci) has been able to help Kellen Winslow get back on the field
and we anticipate Braylon, as well, in the near future.”
Crennel said the rehab for Bentley will be at least six months and in
February the Browns will have a better idea what his timetable will be.
Browns, Wilson Talking: Crennel said the Browns talked with
WR Travis Wilson's agent last night and there's nothing new to report other than
the process is still progressing.
“The longer he stays out, the more opportunity he's giving to some of the other
guys to get ahead of him,” Crennel said.
