The Browns brought back a number of players who were cut on Sunday, placing
them on the team's practice squad.
Re-signed and placed on the squad were WR Frisman Jackson, WR C.J. Jones, DL
Felipe Claybrooks, OL Lewis Dawson, FB Corey McIntyre, DB Ricky Sharpe, and LB
Mason Unck.
All seven players were with the team in training camp, and in a number of
cases were clearly among the tougher cuts that Head Coach Butch Davis had to
make. Frisman Jackson, in particular, was a player most observers would have
considered likely to make the team when training camp started.
NFL clubs are allowed to keep eight players on the practice squad in 2004, up
from five players in previous seasons. Players assigned to the squad cannot have
been on game day rosters more than 9 times in a season, and players may only be
on the squad for two seasons at most.
