According a brief item from an Internet headline service, San Diego Chargers OG Kelvin Garmon has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns. This follows up information provided by the team this afternoon that Garmon had been given a second contract offer.
Garmon is a four-year veteran out of Baylor and is 6'2" and 350 pounds. Garmon has started 42 of 44 games with the Chargers and Cowboys the last three years, including all 16 games with San Diego in 2003. He was originally a seventh round pick in the 1999 draft by the Cowboys.
If the report is correct, the Browns may be acquiring Garmon at about the right time. With four years of experience, the bulky guard seems to be improving, although he is nowhere near the league's elite at this point. Garmon would likely take over the right guard spot currently occupied by 2001 draft pick Paul Zukauskas (also a seventh round selection).
The reports, which immediately showed up in the Bernies Insiders tipline, originated with internet headline service KFFL.com. No source was given for the information. At present, there has been no official confirmation by the team.
