ANNOUNCES THE
1ST ANNUAL EDDIE JOHNSON MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC
MEDIA RELEASE
CLEVELAND – As most
of you may know, our dear family member, teammate and friend, Eddie “The
Assassin’” Johnson succumbed to colon cancer on January 21, 2003. Per
Eddie’s request, we have formed the Eddie Johnson Memorial
Foundation.
The Eddie Johnson Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)3
organization whose mission is to provide assistance to the youth of
Northeastern Ohio by offering
medical financial support, football development and
convalescence visits.
Our first benefit will be the Eddie Johnson Memorial Golf
Classic, presented by Bernie’s Insider’s and Outback
Steakhouse, Friday, September 19,
2003
at “Eddie was very clear to his friends regarding what he wanted us to
do to carry on his memory” says Reggie Langhorne, Chairman of the Board
of Directors. “We are very aware of what issues were close to Eddie’s heart.
With that in mind, we have chosen 14-year old Corey Fritz who is in need
of a heart transplant to be the primary beneficiary of this event”.
