Campbell to Start

Browns avoid potential disaster and embarrassment, as Jason Campbell was cleared to start at quarterback Sunday at Foxboro.

QB Jason Campbell practiced for the second-straight day and Chudzinski announced that he will start Sunday against the Patriots.

"Jason's cleared to play," Chudzinski said. "He's had a good two days of practice. He's looked sharp and he will start Sunday."

Campbell was cleared by an independent neurologist.

"He looks like he hasn't missed a beat."

Campbell is excited to be back on the field.

"I'm feeling good, feeling great," he said after Friday's practice. "I had two great days of practice."

Campbell said this was his second concussion, he suffered one in the preseason of 2011 while with the Raiders, but played the following week.

Campbell said it was important for him to return and hopes to finish the final four games of the season strong.

"Sitting at home alone (watching the games) felt like I was suspended from school," he said. "It's very important for me to finish the season. It's all about rhythm and chemistry with the offense and I wanted to get back to playing."

Campbell admitted that his bruised ribs are pain free now, but that they did bother him in the game against the Bengals.

"It's been a roller coaster season with highs and lows," he said. "It started with the rib injury and then I was sidelined with the concussion. I feel healthy now."

Campbell knows he's in for a tough task with the Patriots Sunday.

"It will be a challenge going against one of the premier teams with a Hall of Fame quarterback (in Brady)."

Meanwhile, QB Brandon Weeden has not been cleared from his concussion and is out for the game. Chudzinski said that it will be a game-time decision as to who will back up Campbell, either QB Caleb Hanie or QB Alex Tanney.

"We'll talk a little bit more about that," he said. "Both have done a good job in practice."

LB Craig Robertson (knee), LB Tank Carder (shoulder) and TE MarQueis Gray (hamstring) were listed as questionable. All other players are listed as probable.

Chudzinski said that DL Billy Winn, DL John Hughes and DL Armonty Bryant will all fill in for DL Desmond Bryant, who was placed on the non-football illness list earlier this week with an irregular heartbeat.
