CLEVELAND -- The Browns made a handful of roster moves Tuesday, most notably bringing back RB Brandon Jackson and signing their first draft pick, sixth-round S Jamoris Slaughter.

Waived were S Eric Hagg, who made two starts last year, LB Ryan Rau and RB Robbie Rouse. Rau was a spring waiver claim from the Eagles and Rouse was an undrafted rookie who signed during minicamp 10 days ago.

Also signed were a pair of undrafted rookies, WR Michael Edwards and DB Kenronte Walker. In another switch announced later in the day, the Browns claimed undrafted rookie RB Miguel Maysonet off waivers from the Eagles and released RB Jamaine Cook, a Youngstown State alum from nearby Middleburg Heights.

The Browns are thin at safety but were quick to move on from Hagg. They're counting on Slaughter to get healthy after a torn Achilles cost him all but three games of his final college season.

Jackson was signed in 2011 after starting his career as a backup in Green Bay. He got hurt in 2011 training camp and missed the whole season. He played in two games last year, running for 54 yards on 8 carries.
