BerniesInsiders.com is pleased to announce award-winning sports reporter and
broadcaster Ron Jantz has joined the rapidly-growing Bernie’s Insiders team. Ron
will join veteran Browns writers Lane Adkins, Mike McLain, Dave Carducci, and "The Owl" as
featured columnists for the web site during the 2003 season.
Ron Jantz has over fifteen years of experience covering sports in the
Cleveland market, beginning in 1987 with a seven-year stint as WUAB-TV’s “Ten
O’Clock News” sports reporter and anchor. Following his successful run at WUAB,
Ron moved on to Cleveland’s NBC affiliate WKYC, serving as the Channel Three
News weekend anchor and sports reporter.
Ron was selected as “Best Sports Reporter” in the Northeast
Region of the United States by UPI in 1989, and also won the “Best Sports
Reporter in Ohio” award that same year.
Ron left broadcasting to pursue an exciting opportunity to serve as the
Marketing and Media Coordinator for Lorain Community College in 2000, but has
elected to accept an offer to continue covering the Browns for
BerniesInsiders.com.
“I was able to cover sports in my hometown during a very fortunate time”, Ron
says, “In that time, I covered the Indians in two World Series, and a great run
of Central Division Championships. I covered the Cavs during the Price, Nance,
Daugherty, Lenny Wilkins days and their Eastern Conference playoff runs against
Jordan’s Chicago Bulls dynasty. I was able to cover the Browns during the time
when Bernie took the team to two AFC Championship Games. I am excited to join
the BerniesInsiders.com team during another fortunate time as the Browns begin
to emerge as one of the NFL’s most intriguing teams.”
