Linebacker Chris Gocong was carted off the practice field with an injury to his right leg and ankle. What began as a lively practice soon turned to a solemn atmosphere.
"It changed the pace and mood of practice," Scott Fujita said.
Gocong was scheduled to get an MRI to find out the extent of the damage. The injury occurred during goal line 11-on-11 drills. Gocong leaped up to defend a pass. When he landed, he did not get up.
"He plays a major role (among the linebackers," D'Qwell Jackson said. "This offseason it was the first time all the linebackers have been together through an entire offseason. It looked serious and you hope and pray for the best. It affected us all and put a damper on the mood."
