Browns Post Game Notes

Starting LT Joe Thomas and CB Sheldon Brown continue consecutive games played streaks alive. P Brad Maynard continues to excel inside the 20, while firsts are achieved by rookie WR Greg Little, LB Chris Gocong and RB Peyton Hills. Let's not forget the consistency in numbers for MLB D'Qwell Jackson.

With a career-best two sacks today, rookie defensive lineman Jabaal Sheard has a team leading 7.5 on the season. He passed defensive lineman Michael Dean Perry (6.0 in 1988) for the second-most sacks by a Browns rookie since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. The club rookie record is 11.0 set by linebacker Kamerion Wimbley in 2006. Sheard has totaled five sacks over the last five games.

Making his first start since October 10, 2010, quarterback Seneca Wallace completed 18 of 31 passes for 226 yards with a 76-yard touchdown. His 76 yard completion was the second-longest of his career, trailing only a 90-yard touchdown to Koren Robinson on November 2, 2008 against Philadelphia as a member of the Seahawks.

Rookie wide receiver Greg Little recorded five receptions for a career-best 131 yards, including a 76-yard touchdown. His 76 yard score was the longest offensive play for the Browns since wide receiver Braylon Edwards registered a 78-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Derek Anderson against Baltimore on September 30, 2007. On the scoring play today, Little passed Eric Metcalf (54 in 1989) for the second-most receptions by a Browns rookie. Little has a team-leading 57 receptions on the season. Little is the first Brown to top the 100-yard receiving mark since tight end Benjamin Watson recorded 100 yard at Miami on December 5, 2010 and the first Browns rookie to accomplish the feat since wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi totaled 115 at Detroit on November 22, 2009.

Running back Peyton Hillis rushed for a season-high 99 yards and one touchdown. He now has three rushing touchdowns this season and 20 in his career.

Rookie defensive back Buster Skrine recorded his first career interception.

Linebacker Chris Gocong notched a season-high nine tackles and recorded two sacks for his first career multiple-sack game. He now has a career-high 3.5 sacks on the season.

Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson tied a season-high with 13 tackles. He is leading the team this season with 138 stops.

Offensive lineman Joe Thomas has started and played in each of the first 78 games of his career.

The Browns took their opening drive 76 yards on seven plays for a touchdown. On the opening series, Wallace completed both of his passing attempts for 41 yards, while Hillis added 35 yards rushing and the touchdown.

Defensive back Sheldon Brown has played in 158 consecutive regular season games, a figure which currently ranks sixth among all active defensive players.

The Browns played their first overtime contest since a 26-20 loss to the New York Jets on November 14, 2010.

Punter Brad Maynard recorded three punts inside the 20 yard line. On the season, he has placed 27 punts inside the 20 and has zero touchbacks.
