BEREA--The Browns have reached an agreement with former Saints and Kent State safety Usama Young according to multiple reports. It is believed Young will be the free safety opposite of T.J. Ward, replacing Abe Elam.
Ironically, Elam started the past two seasons with the Browns after playing at Kent State and now Young will take over after playing as primarily a backup for the Saints the past four seasons.
Young, 26, was a teammate of Joshua Cribbs at Kent State and is a former third-round draft choice of the Saints. He started six games out of 52 while in New Orleans with three interceptions and a sack.
Evan in the House: TE Evan Moore spoke to members of the media in Berea and said that he intends to sign his restricted free agent tender on Friday.
Delhomme Officially Terminated: It’s tough to keep secrets in the NFL today with Twitter and agents, but the Browns officially released QB Jake Delhomme. The only other moves Browns announced were terminating the contracts of LB Eric Alexander and TE Tyson DeVree.
